  • South Africa's 220-run win was their second largest victory by terms of runs against Bangladesh in Test matches.
  • Mahmudul Hasan Joy became the first Bangladesh batsman to score a hundred against South Africa in Test cricket history.
  • South African spinners took 14 wickets - the third most wickets taken by South African spinners in a home Test after 15 wickets against England at Port Elizabeth in 1949 and 15 wickets against Australia at Durban in 1950.
  • Bangladesh's 53 was their second lowest score in Test matches after their 43 against West Indies at North Sound in 2018, It is their worst total against South Africa in Test matches, previous lowest was 90 at Potchefstroom in 2017 and the eighth worst-total in South African soil in Tests.
  • This is the third Instances of South African spin bowlers picking up all ten wickets in an innings in Test matches and this is first such instance of South African spinners took all ten-wickets against Bangladesh in Tests, Three of those three occasions came at Durban (1948 & 1950).
  • Keshav Maharaj's 7 for 32 was his second best bowling performance for South Africa in Test matches and the best bowling figures by an South African bowler against Bangladesh in Test cricket history, surpassing the previous record of 5 for 19 held by Makhaya Ntini at East London in 2002.
  • Keshav Maharaj's 7 for 32 was the fourth best bowling figures at Kingsmead in Test matches.

South Africa 1st Innings scored 367 for all-out in 121 overs with top scorer by Temba Bavuma 93 off 190-balls - who fell seven-run short of his half-century - including 12-fours.

1st Innings Bangladesh best bowler by Khaled Ahmed claimed a 4-wickets for 92-runs in 25-overs including three maidens, Mehidy Hasan Miraz picked up 3-wickets and Ebadot Hossain took 2-wickets.

Bangladesh 1st Innings scored 298 for all-out in 115.5 overs with top scorer by Mahmudul Hasan Joy 137 off 326-balls - which was his 1st Test hundred - including 15-fours & 2-sixes, Liton Das 41, Najmul Hossain Shanto 38, Mehidy Hasan Miraz 29 and Yasir Ali 22.

2nd Innings South Africa best bowler by Simon Harmer claimed a 4-wickets for 42-runs in 20-overs including seven maidens, Lizaad Williams picked up 3-wickets and one for Wiaan Mulder - Duanne Olivier.

South Africa 2nd Innings scored 204 for all-out in 74 overs with top scorer by Dean Elgar 64, Ryan Rickelton 39 not out and Keegan Petersen 36.

2nd Innings Bangladesh best bowler by Ebadot Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz both took 2-wickets and Taskin Ahmed takes 2-wickets.

Bangladesh 2nd Innings scored 53 for all-out in 19 overs with top scorer by Najmul Hossain Shanto 26, Taskin Ahmed 14 and Yasir Ali 5.

2nd Innings South Africa best bowler by Keshav Maharaj 7-32 and Simon Harmer picked up 3-wickets for 21-runs in 9-overs including three maidens.

Keshav Maharaj named Player of the match for his brilliant spin bowling attack to claimed a 7-wivkets for 32-runs in 10-overs in the second innings.
