All-rounder Axar Sharma and Shivam Dube stars as India convincing six-wicket victory over Afghanistan and take a 1-0 lead in the first T20I.

  • India chased 159 was their highest successful run-chase against Afghanistan in T20Is, previously they have chased 116 at Gros Islet in the 2010 World Twenty20.
  • Afghanistan's 158 was their highest score against India in One-day international, previous highest was 144 at Abu Dhabi in 2021 and It is their ninth lowest-score in India in T20Is.
  • 50 : Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran set up the record first-wicket partnership for Afghanistan against India in One-day internationals, previously held by the 26-run between Mohammad Shahzad and Nawroz Mangal at Colombo (RPS) in the 2012 World Twenty20.
  • 44 : Tilak Varma and Shivam Dube set up the fifth highest third-wicket partnership for India against Afghanistan in T20Is.
  • 45 : Shivam Dube and Jitesh Sharma set up the second highest fourth-wicket partnership for India against Afghanistan in T20Is, The highest is 46-run stand between Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina at Colombo (RPS) in the 2012 World Twenty20.

Afghanistan scored 158-5 in 20 overs with top scorer by Mohammad Nabi hammered a 42 off 27-balls including 3-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 155.55.

Azmatullah Omarzai cracked a 29 off 22-balls including 2-fours & a six with strike rate of 131.81, Ibrahim Zadran hit 25 off 22-balls included 2-fours & a six.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 23 off 28-balls contained 2-fours & a six and Najibullah Zadran hit a unbeaten 19 off 11-balls including 4-fours with strike rate of 172.72.

India best bowler by Axar Patel and Mukesh Kumar both took 2-wickets and one for Shivam Dube.

India chased 159-4 in 17.3 overs with top scorer by Shivam Dube hammered a career-best unbeaten 60 off 40-balls.

Jitesh Sharma cracked a 31 off 20-balls including 5-fours, Tilak Varma hit 26 off 22-balls included 2-fours & a six.

Shubman Gill struck 23 off 12-balls including 5-fours with strike rate of 191.66 and Rinku Singh hit a unbeaten 16 off 9-balls contained 2-fours.

Afghanistan best bowler by Mujeeb Ur Rahman took 2-wickets and one for Azmatullah Omarzai.

Shivam Dube named Player of the match for his match-winning all-round performance to smashed a career-best unbeaten 60 off 40-balls including 5-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 150.
