  • India's 1-run win was their joint smallest victory by terms of runs in One-day internationals, it is their 3rd time win by 1-run and first time India had defeated South Africa by 1-run in ODIs.
  • 65 : Wayne Parnell and Dale Steyn set up the record ninth-wicket partnership for South Africa in One-day internationals, previously held by the 61-run stand between Shaun Pollock and Johan Botha against Australia at Melbourne (Docklanda) in 2006.
  • India's 298 was their fourth highest score against South Africa in One-day internationals.
  • South Africa's 297 was their third highest score against India in One-day internationals.

India scored 298-9 in 50 overs with top scorer by Suresh Raina struck 58 off 63-balls including 6-fours & a six.

Virender Sehwag hammered a 46 off 37-balls including 6-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 124.32, Dinesh Karthik hit 44 off 56-balls included 5-fours & a six.

Virat Kohli hit 31 off 46-balls including a boundary, MS Dhoni 26, Ravindra Jadeja 22, Yusuf Pathan 18 and Ashish Nehra 16 not out.

South Africa best bowler by Jacques Kallis picked up 3-wickets for 29-runs in 7-overs, Charl Langeveldt, Albie Morkel and Wayne Parnell each took one-wickets.

South Africa scored 297 for all-out in exact 50 overs with top scorer by Jacques Kallis struck 89 off 97-balls including 6-fours & a six.

Wayne Parnell 49 off 47-balls - who fell one-run short of his half-century - including 4-fours & a six, Dale Steyn hammered a 35 off 19-balls included 3-sixes & a four with strike rate of 184.21.

Loots Bosman struck 29 off 23-balls including 4-fours with strike rate of 126.09, Herschelle Gibbs hit 27 off 40-balls included 3-four & a six and AB de Villiers cracked a 25 off 23-balls with four-fours.

India best bowler by Ravindra Jadeja, Praveen Kumar, Sreesanth each took 2-wickets and one for Yusuf Pathan - Ashish Nehra.

Ravindra Jadeja named Player of the match for his all-round performance to took 2-wickets for 29-runs in 10-overs including two maidens after contributing valuable 22 off 20-balls including a boundary.
