India tour of West Indies 5-match one day international series of the 5th ODI match played between India vs West Indies at Port of Spain in 2002 - India won by 56 run with duckworth lewis method.

Sourav Ganguly played captain innings, he scored marvelous 56 off 80 deliveries, Virender Sehwag scored run a ball, he scored brilliant 32.

Sachin Tendulkar came down as a middle order batsmen, Sachin scored a Scintillating 65 off 70 balls.

Except Sachin all other middle order batting line-up failed to huge score for India.

Sachin and Ganguly brilliant batting performance helped to India reached the total of 260 for all-out.
While west indies chasing 261, West Indies lost 12 for 2 wickets, Their opener Chris Gayle and Wavell Hinds failed to contribute big partnership.

Chris Gayle was scored a just 3 runs and Wavell Hinds scored a 2, Ram Naresh Sarwan brilliant 32 and Brian Lara contributed 36.

Brian Lara struggling to hit big shots, he find the single and twos, West Indies captain Carl Hooper scored just single digit run.

Masterclass batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul played fighting innings to completed his half century, Harbhajan Singh took the Chanderpaul wicket with caught by Sourav Ganguly.

Ridley Jacobs contributed brilliant 36, but west indies top order and middle order batsmen failed to chase total.

Ajit Agarkar took the three important breakthrough, Ashish Nehra and Harbhajan Singh both took two wickets helped to India won by 56 runs with (D/L Methods)


This is India's First ever Series Win in West Indies soil : Ganguly's First Overseas Series Win as Captain of India - India make history in the Caribbean in the 5th ODI and India won the 5-match series 2-1.

This victory proved to be the stepping stone for the young Indian team led by skipper Ganguly famously called DADA'S ARMY which gained a lot of success and scripted many sensational wins for India in the years to come.
