PAKISTAN scored 165 for all-out (33.3 overs) with top scorer by Sadiq Mohammad 37 (50) and Mushtaq Mohammad 27 (48)

New Zealand best bowler by Dayle Hadlee 4/34 (8) and Hedley Howarth 2/30 (8)

Pakistan had enjoyed some luck at Christchurch with the toss, they were unfortunate in this limited-over-40  which attracted 12,000 crowd to Lancaster Park.

Pakistan won the toss decided to fielding first - New Zealand opener Peter Coman and Glenn Turner - who was the New Zealand's first ever openers in one-day cricket.

Peter Coman was scored a valuable innings of 24 off consuming 58 deliveries and He was bowled out by Salim Atlaf, Glenn Turner got out for 10.

New Zealand's half team wickets lost for 98, then bad light stopped the play Ken Wadsworth and Mark Burgess in the crease, light was poor but the rules didn't allowed for stopped the game because of bad light and game ended in Stygian gloom and light rains.

Ken Wadsworth once again batted at this crusial situation and middle order batsmen Mark Burgess, who was top scorer for New Zealand batting line-up, He was got out for a 47 off 68 deliveries including 2 tremendous fours and one six.

Ken Wadsworth was added delightful display of 30 off 48 deliveries New Zealand falling their wickets consistently. And Richard Hadlee showed his display of unbeaten 21 helped to New Zealand all-out for 185 in 38.3 overs.

Pakistan bowler Sarfaraz Nawaz took 4 for 46 to strict the New Zealand scoredboard and Saleem Atlab took 2 wickets.

When Pakistan batted for chasing of 186 in 40 overs, Intikhab Alam and Sadiq Mohammad, who was the first ever openers for Pakistan in one-day cricket.

Pakistan opener Intikhab Alam added 10 and Sadiq Mohammad added valuable 37 off 50 deliveries, after they exit, Majid Khan come and go with 8.

Pakistan falling their wickets consistently, they lost 103 for 7 wickets and match goes to New Zealand favour but Mushtaq Mohammad batted well.

And there was spirited resistance from the tail-enders Wasim Bari and Saleem Altaf both got out for same 21-run knock, but Pakistan last hope Sarfaraz Nawaz attacking New Zealand bowler with 17 off 12 deliveries but He was run out to Pakistan all-out for 165 in 33.3 over.

And the aggressive bowling from New Zealand bowler Dayle Hadlee's 4 for 34 spell to New Zealand won their first ever one-day cricket match by 22-runs.
