Usman Shinwari's five-for after Babar Azam's century and Fakhar Zaman's half-century helped to Pakistan comprehensive 67-run victory over Sri Lanka, despite a record-breaking 177-run partnership for the sixth-wicket between Shehan Jayasuriya and Dasun Shanaka and take a 1-0 lead in the second ODI.

Match Stats :
  • Pakistan's 67-run win was their largest victory by terms of runs against Sri Lanka at Karachi in One-day internationals, previous biggest win by 29-run in 1992.
  • Babar Azam equalled a joint third most centuries hit for Pakistan in One-day internationals, jointly with Mohammad Hafeez.
  • 177 : Sheham Jayasuriya and Dasun Shanaka set up the record sixth-wicket partnership for Sri Lanka in One-day international, previously held by the 159-run stand between Chamara Kapugedera - Chamara Silva against West Indies at Port of Spain in 2008 and the fourth highest sixth-wicket stand in ODIs.
  • 111 : Babar Azam and Haris Sohail set up the joint eighth highest third-wicket partnership for Pakistan against Sri Lanka in One-day internationals, jointly unbeaten 111-run stand held by between Mohammad Hafeez and Sohaib Maqsood at Abu Dhabi in 2013.
  • Pakistan's 305 was their highest score against Sri Lanka at their home venue in One-day international, previous highest total was (297 jointly scored at Faisalabad in 1987 and at Lahore in 2004) and It is their sixth highest-score at Karachi in ODIs.
  • Sri Lanka's 238 was their fourth highest score against Pakistan at Karachi in One-day internationals.
  • Usman Shinwari's 5 for 51 was his second best bowling performance for Pakistan in One-day international and also his second best bowling figures against Sri Lanka in ODIs after his 5 for 34.

Pakistan scored 305-7 in 50-overs with top scorer by Babar Azam 115 off 105-balls - which was his 11th ODI hundred and his third century against Sri Lanka in ODIs - including 8-fours & 4-sixes with strike rate of 109.52.

Fakhar Zaman struck 54 off 65-balls including 6-fours & a six, Haris Sohail scored 40 off 48-balls included a boundary.

Iftikhar Ahmed blasted a unbeaten 32 off 20-balls including 2-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 160 and Imam-ul-Haq scored 31 off 41-balls included a boundary

Sri Lanka best bowler by Wanindu Hasaranga took two-wickets and one for Lahiru Kumara - Isuru Udana.

Sri Lanka scored 238 for all-out in 46.5-overs with top scorer by Shehan Jayasuriya 96 off 109-balls - who fell four-run short of his century - including 6-fours & a six.

Dasun Shanaka struck 68 off 80-balls including 6-fours & 2-sixes and Wanindu Hasaranga hit 30 off 23-balls included 2-sixes & a four with strike rate of 130.43.

Pakistan best bowler by Usman Shinwari took 5-51, Shadab Khan 2-76, Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz and Imad Wasim each took one wickets.

Usman Shinwari named Player of the match for his superb bowling performance to claimed a five-wicket haul for 51-runs in 10-overs with demolished the Sri Lankan top and middle order batting line-up.
