Eoin Morgan, Joe Root and Chris Woakes stars as England cruising to via DLS method 31-run victory over Sri Lanka, despite a Lasith Malinga's five-for and take a 1-0 lead in a rain-affected game of the second ODI.

  • It is the second time Eoin Morgan dismissals on 92 in One-day internationals after He dismissed on same score against Australia at Leeds in 2015.

England scored 278-9 in 50 overs with top scorer by Eoin Morgan 92 - who fell eight-run short of his century.

Joe Root struck 71 off 83-balls including 6-fours, Jos Buttler 28, Jonny Bairstow 26 and Ben Stokes 15.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Lasith Malinga claimed a 5-wicket haul for 44-runs in 10 overs, Dhananjaya de Silva, Thisara Perera, Nuwan Pradeep and Akila Dananjay each took one-wickets.

Sri Lanka scored 140 for 5 in 29 overs - due to rain DLS par score 171 after 29 overs Sri Lanka were 31 runs behind of the par score when the match-stopped.

Sri Lanka top scorer by Thisara Perera cracked a unbeaten 44 off 49-balls including 3-sixes & a four.

Dhananjaya de Silva scored a unbeaten 36 off 50-balls including 2-fours & a six, Kusal Perera hit 30 off 37-balls included 4-fours.

England best bowler by Chris Woakes picked up 3-wickets for 26-runs in 5-overs, Olly Stone and Liam Dawson both took one-wickets.

Eoin Morgan named player of the match for his sparkling 92-runs knocked off facing 91-balls including 11-fours and 2-sixes.
