Eoin Morgan's superb century, Half-centuries from Moeen Ali and Alex Hales before Chris Woakes' four-for helped to England comprehensive 72-run victory over South Africa and take a 1-0 lead in the first ODI.

* England's 72-run win was their second largest victory by terms of runs against South Africa in One-day internationals.

* England's 339-run was their second highest score against South Africa in One-day internationals.

* 117 : Eoin Morgan and Moeen Ali set up the record sixth-wicket partnership for England against South Africa in One-day internationals, previously held by the 112-run stand between Neil Fairbrother and Adam Hollioake at Dhaka in 1998.

England scored massive total of 339-6 in 50 overs - This was second highest score for England against South Africa in ODI's.

England top scorer by Eoin Morgan 107 off 93-balls - which was his 11th ODI hundred and his first century against South Africa in ODIs - including 7-fours and 5-sixes with strike rate of 115.05.

Moeen Ali 77 not out, Alex Hales struck 61 off 60-balls including 6-fours & a six and Joe Root scored 37 off 51-balls including 2-fours and Ben Stokes 28.

South Africa best bowler by Andile Phehlukwayo, Chris Morris both took 2-wickets and one for Wayne Parnell and Kagiso Rabada.

South Africa scored 267 for all-out in 45 overs with top scorer by Hashim Amla struck 73 off 76-balls including eight boundaries.

Faf du Plessis cracked a 67 off 61-balls including 8-fours with strike rate of 109.83, AB de Villiers hit 45 off 38-balls included seven boundaries, Wayne Parnell and Kagiso Rabada each scored 19-runs.

England best bowler by Chris Woakes claimed a 4-wickets for 38-runs in 8-overs, Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid both took 2-wickets and one for Liam Plunkett and Mark Wood.

Moeen Ali named player of the match for his all-round performance to took 2-wickets for 50-runs in 9-overs after smashed a unbeaten 77-runs knocked off facing 51-balls including 5-sixes and 5-fours with strike rate of 150.98.
