Virat Kohli's 35th ODI century after Shardul Thakur's four-for helped to India emphatic eight-wicket victory over South Africa and clinch the six-match series with 5-1 in a low-scoring game of the sixth & final ODI.

Match Stats : 
  • Virat Kohli became the first player to score more than 500 runs in a bilateral ODI series and also the first captain to do so.
  • The previous highest for most runs in all bilateral ODI series was held by India's Rohit Sharma, who scored 491 runs in the seven-match series against Australia in 2013.
  • 4 : Virat Kohli hit the second most centuries by an Indian batsman against South Africa in One-day internationals after Sachin Tendulkar (5) and also the second most hundreds by a batsman against South Africa in ODIs.

South Africa scored 204 for all-out in 46.5 overs with top scorer by Khaya Zondo struck 54 off 74-balls including 3-fours & 2-sixes.

Andile Phehlukwayo scored 34 off 42-balls including 2-sixes & 2-fours, AB de Villiers hit 30 off 34-balls included 4-fours, Aiden Markram 24, Heinrich Klaasen 22 and Morne Morkel 20.

India best bowler by Shardul Thakur claimed a career-best 4-wickets for 52-runs in 8.5 overs, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal both 2-wickets and one for Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav.

India chased 206-2 in 32.1 overs with top scorer by Virat Kohli 129 not out - which was his 35th ODI hundred, his fourth century against South Africa in ODIs and his third ODI century in the series.

Ajinkya Rahane scored a unbeaten 34 off 50-balls including 3-fours, Shikhar Dhawan 18 and Rohit Sharma 15.

Virat Kohli named Player of the match for his match-winning masterclass unbeaten 129-runs knocked off facing 96-balls including 19-fours and 2-sixes with strike rate of 134.37

Virat Kohli earned player of the series for contributing 558-runs including 3-centuries and a fifty with average of 186 in the six-match ODI series.
