Akila Dananjay six-wicket haul after a Angelo Mathews' run-a-ball 97* helped to Sri Lanka thumping 178-run victory over South Africa and South Africa clinch the five-match series with 3-2 in a one-sided game of the fifth ODI.

* Sri Lanka's 178-run win was their second largest victory by terms of runs against South Africa in ODIs.

* South Africa's 178-run defeat was their third worst by margin of runs in ODIs.

* South Africa's 121 was their ninth lowest score in One-day international and it is their worst total against Sri Lanka in ODIs.

* Akila Dananjaya's 6 for 29 was the joint eighth best bowling figures for Sri Lanka in One-day international and Sri Lanka's best figures against South Africa in ODIs.

Sri Lanka scored 299-8 in 50-overs with top scorer by Angelo Mathews struck a run-a-ball unbeaten 97*, Niroshan Dickwella cracked a 43 off 65-balls included 5-fours.

Kusal Mendis hit 38 off 43-balls including 5-fours, Dhananjaya de Silva scored 30 off 41-balls included one-six & a four, Dasun Shanaka 21 and Upul Tharanga 19.

South Africa best bowler by Wiaan Mulder, Andile Phehlukwayo both took two wickets, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada and Junior Dala each took one wickets.

South Africa scored 121 for all-out in 24.4 overs with top scorer by Quinton de Kock struck 54 off 57-balls including 7-fours & a six and Aiden Markram 20.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Akila Dananjay 6-26, Lahiru Kumara took two wickets, Dhananjaya de Silva and Suranga Lakmal both took one-wickets.

Akila Dananjay named Player of the match for his excellent spin bowling performance to claimed a career-best six-wicket haul for 26-runs in 9-overs.

JP Duminy earned player of the series for contributing 227-runs with strike rate of 135.92 in the five-match ODI series.
