Gulbadin Naib's heroic 82* leads to Afghanistan thrilling two-wicket victory over Zimbabwe, despite a brilliant century from Hamilton Masakadza and clinch the their historic five-match series win with 3-2 in a tight-game of the fifth ODI.

  • Afghanistan chased 249 was their seventh highest successful run-chase in One-day international and It is their third highest chase against Zimbabwe in ODIs.
  • Afghanistan have broken into the top 10 of the ICC ODI rankings - This was their second series win against a Full Member. Both have been against Zimbabwe. The first one came in October.
  • 101 : Peter Moor and Hamilton Masakadza set up the second highest second-wicket partnership for Zimbabwe against Afghanistan in One-day internationals.
  • Gulbadin Naib's unbeaten 82 was the highest score by an Afghanistan No.7 batsman in One-day internationals, surpassing the previous record of 81 held by Samiullah Shinwari against Bangladesh at Fatullah in 2014.
  • 85 : Gulbadin Naib and Rashid Khan set up the record seventh-wicket partnership for Afghanistan against Zimbabwe in One-day international, previously held by the unbeaten 56-run stand between Mohammad Shahzad and Mirwais Ashraf at same venue in this series and Afghanistan's second highest seventh-wicket stand in ODIs.
  • Zimbabwe's 248 was their fourth highest score against Afghanistan in One-day internationals.
  • Afghanistan's 254 was their joint fifth highest score against Zimbabwe in One-day internationals.
  • Hamilton Masakadza became the third Zimbabwe batsman to score a hundred against Afghanistan in One-day internationals after Sikandar Raza and Sean Williams.

Zimbabwe scored 248 for all-out in 49.5 overs with top scorer by Hamilton Masakadza struck 110 off 111-balls - which was his 4th ODI hundred and his first century against Afghanistan in ODIs - including 9-fours and 4-sixes.

Peter Moor struck 42 off 76-balls including 3-fours & a six, Richmond Mutumbami cracked a 40 off 47-balls included 3-fours & 2-sixes and Sikandar Raza 29.

Afghanistan best bowler by Amir Hamza picked up 3-wickets, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan Dawlat Zadran both took 2-wickets and one of Mirwais Ashraf.

Afghanistan chased 254-8 in 49.4 overs with top scorer by Gulbadin Naib 82 not out, Hashmatullah Shahidi struck 32 off 55-balls including three boundaries.

Rashid Khan scored 31 off 30-balls including 3-fours, Noor Ali Zadran hit 30 off 42-balls included 4-fours.

Mohammad Nabi scored 26 off 33-balls including one-six & a four and Mohammad Shahzad hit 25 off 22-balls included 4-fours with strike rate of 113.64.

Zimbabwe best bowler by Luke Jongwe picked up 3-wickets, Sikandar Raza, Neville Madziva each took two-wickets and one for Graeme Cremer.

Gulbadin Naib named player of the match for his sensational batting performance to smashed a match-winning unbeaten 82-runs off facing 68-balls including 6-sixes and 3-fours with strike rate of 120.58.

Mohammad Shahzad earned player of the series for contributing 237-runs including one-century in the five-match ODI series.
