Bowlers attack, stunning half-centuries from Ahmed Shehzad, Haris Sohail and Misbah-ul-Haq helped to Pakistan cruising 129-run victory over United Arab Emirates in the 25th match of the World Cup.
Hopes that this Pakistan team is capable of as dramatic and irrepressible a surge as that which won the 1992 World Cup will be momentarily boosted by the 129-run victory over UAE, but a truer test awaits them at Eden Park.
Pakistan scored massive total of 339-6 in 50 overs with top scorer by Ahmed Shehzad 93 who fell 9-run short of his century, Haris Sohail struck 70 off 83-balls including 5-fours and a six, Misbah-ul-Haq scored 65 off 49-balls included four-fours and two-sixes and Sohaib Maqsood scored 45 off 31-balls with 4-fours and 2-sixes.
UAE best bowler by Manjula Guruge claimed four-wicket haul for 56-runs from 8 overs and Mohammad Naveed took a one-wicket.
UAE scored 210-8 in 50 overs with top scorer by Shaiman Anwar struck 62 off 88-balls including 4-fours and 2-sixes, Khurram Khan scored 43 off 54-balls included 3-fours and a six, Amjad Javed scored 40 and Swapnil Patil 36.
