Marnus Labuschagne's third consecutive century and Mitchell Starc's 9-wickets helped to Australia massive 296-run victory over New Zealand and take a 1-0 lead in a one-sided game of the first Test match.

* Australia's 296-run win was their second largest victory by terms of runs against New Zealand in Test matches.

Australia 1st innings scored 416 for all-out in 146.2 overs with top scorer by Marnus Labuschagne 143 - who struck his 3rd Test century and his third consecutive century in Test matches - Including 18-fours and a six, Travis Head scored 56, David Warner and Steve Smith each scored 43-runs.

1st Innings New Zealand best bowler by Neil Wagner, Tim Southee each claims four-wicket haul, Jeet Raval and Colin de Grandhomme each took one wickets.

New Zealand 1st Innings scored 166 for all-out in 55.2 overs with top scorer by Ross Taylor struck 80 including nine boundaries, Kane Williamson 34 and Colin de Grandhomme 23.

Australia 2nd innings scored 217-9 declared in 69.1 overs with top scorer by Joe Burns struck 53 included six fours, Marnus Labuschagne scored 50 including 3-fours and Mitchell Starc 23.

2nd Innings New Zealand best bowler by Tim Southee claimed 5-wicket haul for 69-runs, Neil Wagner picked up 3-wickets and one for Colin de Grandhomme.

New Zealand 2nd innings scored 171 for all-out in 65.3 overs with top scorer by BJ Watling scored 40-runs including four boundaries, Colin de Grandhomme 33, Ross Taylor 22 and Henry Nicholls 21.

2nd Innings Australia best bowler by Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon each picked up four-wickets for 45-runs and Pat Cummins took 2-wickets.

Mitchell Starc named Player of the match for high-class bowling performance to claimed 9-wickets for 97-runs from 32-overs.
