Nathan Lyon four-wicket haul helped to Australia emphatic 247-runs victory over New Zealand on Sunday's fourth day of the second Test at the MCG despite a fighting century from Black Caps opener Tom Blundell

Australia 1st Innings scored 467 for all-out in 155.1 overs with top scorer by Travis Head 114 - off 234-balls - who scored his 2nd Test hundred,  Steve Smith struck 85 off 242-balls including 8-fours and a six, Tim Paine scored 79 with nine boundaries and Marnus Labuschagne 63.

1st innings New Zealand best bowler by Neil Wagner claimed five-wickets, Tim Southee picked up three-wickets, Colin de Grandhomme took 2-wickets and one for Trent Boult.

New Zealand 1st innings scored 148 for all-out in 54.5 overs with top scorer by Tom Latham struck 50 off 144-balls including four boundaries and Neil Wagner 18 not out.

1st Innings Australia best bowler by Pat Cummins claimed 5-wicket haul for 28-runs, James Pattinson picked up 3-wickets and Mitchell Starc took 2-wickets.

Australia 2nd innings scored 168-5 declared in 54.2 overs with top scorer by David Warner scored 38, Joe Burns 35, Matthew Wade 30 and Travis Head 28 not out.

2nd Innings New Zealand best bowler by Neil Wagner picked up 3-wickets and Mitchell Santner took one-wickets.

New Zealand 2nd innings scored 240 for all-out in 71 overs (Chasing target of 488) with their top scorer by Tom Blundell 121 off 210-balls - which was his 3rd ODI hundred - including 15-fours, Henry Nicholls scored 33, Mitchell Santner 27 and BJ Watling 22.

2nd Innings Australia best bowler by Nathan Lyon claimed four-wickets for 81-runs, James Pattinson picked up 3-wickets and one for Marnus Labuschagne.

Travis Head named Player of the match for his spectacular batting display of scoring 112-runs off facing 234-balls including 12-fours helped to Australia set up the mammoth total of 467.
