Matt Henry's four-for and Mitchell McClenaghan's three-for before Magnificent Martin Guptill's 30-ball 93* powers to New Zealand's record ten-wicket victory over Sri Lanka and wrap up 2-0 lead in a one-sided game of the second ODI.

Match Stats :
  • The ten-wicket win is New Zealand's eighth and New Zealand's biggest victory by terms of wickets remaining against Sri Lanka in One-day international and It is the fourth such defeat for Sri Lanka in ODIs.
  • Sri Lanka's 117 was their third lowest score against New Zealand in One-day internationals.
  • Martin Guptill equalled a 17-ball joint second fastest fifty in One-day international, jointly with Sanath Jayasuriya & Kusal Perera and the fastest half-century by an New Zealand batsman in ODI cricket history, surpassing the previous record of 18-ball fifty held by Brendon McCullum against England at Wellington in this year 2019 World Cup.
  • 8 : Martin Guptill hit the his second most sixes in an innings for New Zealand in One-day international and the second most sixes hit by an New Zealand batsman against Sri Lanka in an Innings in ODIs.
  • 118* : Martin Guptill and Tom Latham set up the third highest first-wicket partnership for New Zealand against Sri Lanka in One-day internationals.

Sri Lanka scored 117 for all-out in 27.4 overs with top scorer by Nuwan Kulasekara 19, Danushka Gunathilaka and Angelo Mathews both scored 17-runs.

New Zealand best bowler by Matt Henry claimed a 4-wickets for 33-runs in 9.4 overs including two maidens, Mitchell McClenaghan picked up 3-wickets for 32-runs in 8-overs and Ish Sodhi and Doug Bracewell both took one-wickets.

New Zealand chased 118-0 in 8.2 overs with top scorer by Martin Guptill 93 not out and Tom Latham 17 not out.

Martin Guptill named Player of the match for his match-winning power-hitting batting performance to smashed a unbeaten 93-runs knocked off facing 30-balls including 9-fours and 8-sixes with strike rate of 310.
