Marlon Samuels' record-breaking 126* and Denesh Ramdin's superb half-century sets up to West Indies thumping 124-run victory over India and take a 1-0 lead in a one-sided first ODI.

  • West Indies' 124-run win was their second largest victory by terms of runs against India in One-day internationals.
  • West Indies' 321 was their fourth highest score against India in One-day international, It is their fifth highest total in Indian soil in ODIs and the highest-score at Kochi in ODIs.
  • India's 197 was their tenth lowest score against West Indies at their home venue in One-day international and It is their second lowest-score at Kochi in ODIs.
  • Marlon Samuels' 126* was his joint highest score for West Indies in One-day international, jointly his 126 against Bangladesh at Dhaka in 2012 and the fifth highest-score by an West Indies batsman against India in ODIs.
  • Marlon Samuels' unbeaten 126 was the highest score by an West Indies at No.4 batsman against India in One-day internationals, surpassing the previous record of unbeaten 115* held by Ramnaresh Sarwan at Basseterre in 2006.
  • 165 : Marlon Samuels and Denesh Ramdin set up the record fourth-wicket partnership for West Indies against India in One-day international, previously held by the 149-run stand between Marlon Samuels and Shivnarine Chanderpaul at Rajkot in 2002 and West Indies' third highest fourth-wicket stand in ODIs.

West Indies scored massive total of 321-6 in 50 overs with top scorer by Marlon Samuels 126 not out - which was his 6th ODI hundred and his second century against India in ODIs.

Denesh Ramdin struck 61 off 59-balls including 5-fours and 2-sixes, Dwayne Smith scored 46 off 45-balls including 4-fours & two-sixes.

Darren Bravo hit 28 off 45-balls including 2-fours & a six and Dwayne Bravo scored 17 off 24-balls included 4-fours.

India best bowler by Mohammed Shami claims four-wicket haul for 66-runs from 9-overs, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin each took one-wickets.

India scored 197 for all-out in 41 overs with top scorer by Shikhar Dhawan struck 68 off 92-balls including nine boundaries, Ravindra Jadeja cracked a unbeaten 33 off 36-balls included 2-fours and a six.

Ajinkya Rahane scored 24 off 22-balls including 4-fours and Mohammed Shami 19.

West Indies best bowler by Marlon Samuels, Dwayne Bravo, Ravi Rampaul each took two-wickets, Darren Sammy, Andre Russell and Jerome Taylor each takes one-wickets.

Marlon Samuels named Player of the match for his all-round performance to took 2-wickets for 10-runs in 3-overs after scoring a magnificent unbeaten 126-runs knocked off facing 116-balls including 11-fours and 4-sixes with strike rate of 108.62.
