Half-centuries from Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni before Mohammed Shami's four-for, Spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Amit Mishra's combined 5-wickets helped to India comprehensive 48-run victory over West Indies, despite a fighting knock from Dwayne Smith's 97 and level the series with 1-1 in the second ODI.

  • India's 48-run win was their eighth largest victory by terms of runs against West Indies at their home venue in One-day internationals.
  • India's 263 was their highest score against West Indies at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in One-day internationals, previous highest was 176 in 1989.
  • West Indies' 215 was their second lowest score at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in One-day internationals.
  • Mohemmed Shami becomes the first Indian bowler to claimed a 4 four-wicket hauls in a calendar year in ODIs.
  • Mohammed Shami is the third Indian bowler – after Anil Kumble and Venkatapathy Raju- to claim two four-wicket hauls against West Indies in ODIs.
  • This was Mohammed Shami’s fourth four-wicket haul in calendar year 2014. He thus became first Indian bowler to claim four four-wicket hauls in a calendar year. Five bowlers- Narendra Hirwani, Anil Kumble, Ajit Agarkar, Harbhajan Singh and Praveen Kumar- had taken three four-wicket hauls in a year.
  • 50 : Virat Kohli became the eighth Indian player to hit most 50-plus scores in One-day internationals after Sachin Tendulkar (145), Rahul Dravid (94), Sourav Ganguly (93), Mohammad Azharuddin (65), MS Dhoni (65), Yuvraj Singh (64) and Virender Sehwag (52).
  • 140 matches : Virat Kohli became the second fastest to score 50-plus scores in One-day internationals after Viv Richards (136 matches).
  • Jerome Taylor became the 15th West Indies bowler and 122nd overall to take 100 or more ODI wickets.
  • 105 : Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina set up the ninth highest fourth-wicket partnership for India against West Indies in One-day internationals.
  • This is the first time Dwayne Bravo dismissals on nervous nineties in One-day internationals. 

India scored 263-7 in 50 overs with top scorer by Suresh Raina struck 62 off 60-balls including 5-fours & 2-sixes, Virat Kohli hit 62 off 78-balls included 5-fours.

MS Dhoni cracked a unbeaten 51 off 40-balls including five-fours and a six with strike rate of 127.50, Ambati Rayudu scored 32 off 54-balls included 3-fours and Bhuvneshwar Kumar 18.

West Indies best bowler by Jerome Taylor picked up 3-wickets, Darren Sammy, Ravi Rampaul, Sulieman Benn and Dwayne Bravo each took one wickets.

West Indies scored 215 for all-out in 46.3 overs with top scorer by Dwayne Smith cracked a run-a-ball 97 - who fell three-run short of his century - including 11-fours and 2-sixes, 

Kieron Pollard struck 40 off 50 deliveries included 3-sixes & a four, Darren Bravo 26 and Marlon Samuels 16.

India best bowler by Mohammed Shami 4-36, Ravindra Jadeja picked up 3-wickets, Amit Mishra took two-wickets and one for Umesh Yadav.

Mohemmed Shami named player of the match for his pace bowling attack to claimed a career-best 4-wickets for 36-runs in 9.3 overs.
