All-round performance from Skipper Hansie Cronje led to South Africa convincing five-wicket victory over Pakistan despite Aamer Sohail's superb century in the World Cup Group B match.
* This was South Africa's 9th consecutive ODI win and 4th consecutive win in Pakistan after 6 consecutive defeats in Pakistan.
Pakistan scored 242-6 in 50 overs with top scorer by Aamer Sohail struck 111 off 139-balls - which was his 4th ODI hundred including 8-fours, Saleem Malik cracked a 40 off 66-balls included 3-fours, Wasim Akram hammered a 32 off 25-balls with 3-fours, Saeed Anwar scored 25 and Inzamam-ul-Haq 23.
South Africa best bowler by Hansie Cronje picked up two-wickets, Paul Adams, Craig Matthews and Shaun Pollack each took one-wickets.
South Africa chased 243-5 in 44.2 overs with top scorer by Daryll Cullinan struck 65 off 76-balls including six boundaries, Hansie Cronje 45 not out, Gary Kirsten cracked a 44 off 57-balls included five-fours, Andrew Hudson scored 33 off 26-balls with six-fours and Shaun Pollock 20 not out.
Pakistan best bowler by Waqar Younis picked up 3-wickets for 50-runs in 8-overs and Saqlain Mushtaq took two-wickets.
Hansie Cronje named Player of the match for his match-winning all-round performance to scored a unbeaten 45 off 73-balls including two boundaries and took 2-wickets for 20-runs in 5-overs.
