George Bailey's half-century, All-round display from James Faulkner, Three-wicket hauls from Clint McKay and Nathan Coulter-Nile helped to Australia narrow 5-run victory over England and clinch the five-match series with 4-1 in a low-scoring thriller of the fifth ODI.

  • Australia's 5-run win was their joint fifth smallest victory by terms of runs against England in One-day internationals.
  • England's 212 was their seventh lowest score in the completed innings at Adelaide Oval in One-day internationals.
  • Australia's 217 was their fourth lowest score against England at Adelaide Oval in One-day internationals.

Australia scored 217-9 in 50 overs with top scorer by George Bailey struck 56 off 74-balls including four boundaries.

Shaun Marsh scored 36 off 52-balls including 3-fours, Matthew Wade hit 31 off 46-balls included 2-fours and James Faulkner 27, Glenn Maxwell 22 and Nathan Coulter-Nile 15. 

England best bowler by Stuart Broad, Ben Stokes both picked up 3-wickets, Chris Jordan took two-wickets and one for Tim Bresnan.

England scored 212 for all-out in 49.4 overs with top scorer by Joe Root struck 55 off 86-balls including 3-fours and a six.

Eoin Morgan cracked a 39 off 40-balls including 3-fours & a six, Alastair Cook scored 39 off 62-balls included three boundaries and Ravi Bopara 25.

Australia best bowler by Nathan Coulter-Nile picked up 3-wickets for 34-runs in 10-overs including a maiden, Clint McKay takes 3-wickets for 36-runs in 10-overs included a maiden, James Faulkner took two-wickets and one for Shane Watson.

James Faulkner named player of the match for his all-round performance to took 2-wickets after scoring a run-a-ball 27-runs including 2-fours.

Aaron Finch earned player of the series for contributing 258-runs including two-centuries in the five-match ODI series.
