Lahiru Thirimanne, Tillaknratne Dilshan's fifties, Forties from Mahela Jayawardene and Angelo Mathews before Thisara Perera's four-for, Nuwan Kulasekara and Lasith Malinga's combined 5-wickets helped to Sri Lanka thumping 51-run victory over India, despite a Irfan Pathan'a assault in the eighth match of a CB Tri-series.

  • Sri Lanka's 51-run win was their sixth largest victory by terms of runs against India at neutral venue in One-day internationals.
  • Sri Lanka's 289 was their fourth highest score against India at neutral venue in One-day internationals.
  • India's 238 was their third highest score against Sri Lanka in Australian soil in One-day internationals.
  • 95 : Mahela Jayawardene and Tillakaratne Dilshan set up the eighth highest first-wicket partnership for Sri Lanka against India in One-day internationals.

Sri Lanka scored 289-6 in 50 overs with top scorer by Lahiru Thirimanne cracked a run-a-ball 62-runs including 6-fours.

Tillakaratne Dilshan scored 51 off 72-balls including 5-fours & a six, Angelo Mathews 49 not off 36-balls - who fell one-run short of his half-century - included 4-fours & a six with strike rate of 132.43.

Mahela Jayawardene hit 45 off 55-balls including 2-fours and Dinesh Chandimal scored 38 off 49-balls included a boundary.

India best bowler by Ravichandran Ashwin, Irfan Pathan both took 2-wickets and one for Suresh Raina - Umesh Yadav.

India scored 238 for all-out in 45.1 overs with top scorer by Virat Kohli struck 66 off 83-balls including 2-fours.

Irfan Pathan hammered a 47 off 34-balls including 7-fours with strike rate of 138.24, Suresh Raina scored 32 off 55-balls included 2-fours.

Gautam Gambhir scored 29 off 34-balls including 4-fours, Sachin Tendulkar 22 and Ravindra Jadeja 17.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Thisara Perera claimed a 4-wickets for 37-runs in 7.1 overs, Nuwan Kulasekara 3-40, Lasith Malinga took 2-wickets and one for Farveez Maharoof.

Nuwan Kulasekara named Player of the match for his pace bowling attack to picked up 3-wickets for 40-runs in 9-overs.
