Fighting knocks from Asad Shafiq and Umar Akmal after a pace bowling attack helped to Pakistan stunning four-wicket victory over Australia in a low-scoring game of the 40th match of a World Cup.

* Australia's defeat ends a 34-match World Cup streak without a loss. During this period, which they started on 27th May 1999 to 19th March 2011 they have won 32 matches, while one was tied and one was a no-result.

* The scoring patterns of the two teams were distinctly different in this match: Australia took 89 singles, 13 twos, and struck ten fours; Pakistan took 59 singles, eight twos, but struck 21 fours, more than twice the number that Australia managed.

Pakistan best bowler by Umar Gul picked up 3-wickets, Abdul Razzaq takes two-wickets for 8-runs in 4-overs, Mohammad Hafeez, Shahid Afridi, Abdur Rehman and Wahab Riaz each took one-wickets.

Pakistan chased 178-6 in 41-overs with top scorer by Asad Shafiq struck 46 off consuming 81 deliveries including five boundaries, Umar Akmal 44 not out, Younis Khan scored 31, Kamran Akmal 23 and Abdul Razzaq cracked a unbeaten 20 off 24-balls.

Australia best bowler by Brett Lee claimed 4-wicket haul for 28-runs in 8-overs, Mitchell Johnson and Jason Krejza each took one-wickets.

Umar Akmal named Player of the match for his match-winning unbeaten 44-runs knocked off facing 59-balls including four-fours and a six.
