Wasim Akram's all-round brilliance and A Half-centuries from Imran Khan and Javed Miandad guided Pakistan narrow 22-run victory over England and lift the their maiden World Cup title in the final of a Benson and Hedges World Cup.

Javed Miandad cracked a 58 off 98-balls including 4-fours, Inzamam-ul-Haq blasted a 42 off 35-balls included 4-fours and Wasim Akram hammered a 33 off 18-balls.

England best bowler by Derek Fringle picked up 3-wickets for 22-runs in 10-overs including two maidens with economy rate of 2.20, Ian Botham and Richard IlIingworth both took one-wickets.

England scored 227 for all-out in 49.2 overs with top scorer by Neil Fairbrothrer struck 62 off 70-balls including 3-fours.

Allan Lamb cracked a 31 off 41-balls included 2-fours, Graham Gooch scored 29 off consuming 66-balls included a boundary, Derek Fringle hit a unbeaten 18 off 16-balls including a boundary and 

Graeme Hick scored 17 off 36-balls including a boundary and Dermot Reeve cracked a 15 off 32-balls without a boundary and Richard Illingworth hit 14 off 10-balls contained 2-fours with strike rate of 140.

Pakistan best bowler by Mushtaq Ahmed picked up 3-wickets for 41-runs in 10-overs, Wasim Akram captured three-wickets, Aaqib Javed picked up 2-wickets for 27-runs in 10-overs including two maidens and Imran Khan took 1-wicket.

Wasim Akram named Player of the match for his match-winning all-round performance to picking up 3-wickets and after smashing a quick-fire unbeaten 33 off facing 18-balls including four-fours with strike rate of 183.33.
