  • Sachin Tendulkar's unbeaten 200 was the highest score in One-day international cricket history, surpassing the previous record of 194 jointly held by Pakistan's Saeed Anwar against India at Chennai in 1997 and Zimbabwe's Charles Coventry against Bangladesh at Bulawayo in the last year.

  • 101 : Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni set up the second highest fourth-wicket partnership for India against South Africa in One-day internationals.
  • 77 : AB de Villiers and Wayne Parnell set up the joint second highest eighth-wicket partnership for South Africa against India in One-day international, jointly 77-run stand held by between Lance Klusener and Mark Boucher at Centurion in 2001 and South Africa's joint fourth highest eighth-wicket stand in ODIs.
  • 5 : AB de Villiers' hit the fifth most centuries for South Africa in One-day internationals.

India scored mammoth total of 401-3 in 50 overs with top scorer by Sachin Tendulkar 200 not out - which was his 46th ODI hundred, his fourth century against South Africa in ODIs and his 1st ODI double-hundred.

Dinesh Karthik struck 79 off 85-balls including four-fours and 3-sixes.

MS Dhoni hammered a unbeaten 68 off 35-balls including 7-fours & 4-sixes with strike rate of 194.29 and Yousuf Pathan blasted a 36 off 23-balls included 4-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 156.52.

South Africa best bowler by Wayne Parnell took 2-wickets and one for Roelof van der Merwe.

South Africa scored 248 for all-out in 42.5 overs with top scorer by AB de Villiers struck a unbeaten 114 off 101-balls - who was his 5th ODI hundred and his first century against India in ODIs - including 13-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 112.87.

Hashim Amla hammered a 34 off 22-balls including 7-fours with strike rate of 154.55 and Wayne Parnell 18.

India best bowler by Sreesanth picked up 3-wickets, Yousuf Pathan, Ravindra Jadeja, Ashish Nehra each took two-wickets and one for Praveen Kumar.

Sachin Tendulkar named Player of the match for his record-breaking unbeaten 200-runs knocked off facing 147-balls including 25-fours and 3-sixes with strike rate of 136.05.
