Virat Kohli's record 55-ball 90* before bowlers attack helped to India comprehensive 37-run victory over Australia and take a 1-0 lead in the first T20I.

  • India's 37-run win was their second largest victory by terms of runs against Australia in T20 internationals.
  • Virat Kohli's 90* was the third highest score for India in T20 international and the highest-score by an Indian batsman against Australia in T20Is, surpassing the previous record of unbeaten 79 held by Rohit Sharma at Bridgetown in the 2010 World Twenty20.
  • India's 188 was their joint sixth highest score against Australia in T20 international and It is their second highest total against India in T20Is.
  • Australia's 151 was their sixth highest score against India in T20 internationals.
  • 134 : Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina set up the record third-wicket partnership for India in One-day international, previously held by the 88-run stand between Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh against South Africa at Gros Islet in the 2010 World Twenty20 and India's third highest any-wicket stand in T20Is.

India scored massive total of 188-3 in 20 overs with top scorer by Virat Kohli 90 not out, Suresh Raina cracked a 41 off 34-balls including 3-fours & a six and Rohit Sharma struck 31 off 20-balls included 4-fours & a six.

Australia best bowler by Shane Watson took two-wickets and one for James Faulkner.

Australia scored 151 for all-out in 19.3 overs with top scorer by Aaron Finch struck 44 off 33-balls including 4-fours & 2-sixes.

Steve Smith cracked a 21 off 14-balls included three boundaries, David Warner and Chris Lyon each scored 17-runs.

India best bowler by Jasprit Bumrah picked up 3-wickets 23-runs in 3.3-overs, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Hardik Pandya each took two-wickets and one for Ashish Nehra.

Virat Kohli named Player of the match for his sparkling career-best unbeaten 90-runs knocked off facing 55-balls including 9-fours and 2-sixes with strike rate of 163.63.
