A brilliant batting display from Marcus Trescothick, Kevin Pietersen and Paul Collingwood before Jon Lewis' four-for and Darren Gough's three-for gives Debutants England registered their historic first-ever T20I by a record-breaking 100-run against Australia in a one-sided game of the one-off T20 international.


* England's 179 was their highest score in T20 international and the second highest total in T20Is.

* Australia's 79 was the lowest-score ever in T20 International cricket history.

* England's 100-run was the largest victory by terms of runs in T20 international cricket history.

* Jon Lewis became the second bowler to take a four-wicket haul in T20 internationals and first England bowler to take four-for in T20Is.

England scored 179-8 in 20 overs with top scorer by Paul Collingwood hammered a quick-fire 26-ball 46-runs including five-fours and two-sixes with strike rate of 176.92.

Marcus Trescothick struck 41 off 37-balls included five-fours, Kevin Pietersen 34, Geraint Jones 19 and Andrew Strauss 18.

Glenn McGrath picked up 3-wickets, Andrew Symonds takes two-wickets, Michael Clarke, Michael Kasprowicz and Jason Gillespie each took one-wickets.

Australia scored lowest total of 79 for all-out in 14.3 overs with top scorer by Jason Gillespie struck 24 off 18-balls including four-fours, Adam Gilchrist and Brett Lee both scored 15-runs.

England best bowler by Jon Lewis claimed 4-wicket haul for 24-runs in 4-overs, Darren Gough picked up 3-wickets, Paul Collingwood took two-wickets and one for Steve Harmison.

Kevin Pietersen named Player of the match for his brilliant batting performance to scored crusial 34-runs knocked off facing 18-balls including 3-fours and a six with strike rate of 188.88.
