Joe Root and Jason Roy stars as England record two-wicket victory over South Africa and keep their campaign alive in a high-scoring thriller of the 18th match of a World Twenty20.

* 230 : England completed the second-highest successful run-chase in T20 internationals and the highest in World T20 history.

* South Africa's 229 was their third highest score ever in T20 internationals cricket history, it is the seventh highest total in T20Is, it is their second highest total against England in T20Is and the third best-score in World T20.

* England's 230 was their highest score ever in T20 internationals cricket history, it is the sixth highest score in T20Is and the second best-score in World T20.

* Quinton de Kock equalled a 21-ball joint-fastest fifty for South Africa in T20 internationals, jointly with AB de Villiers' 21-balls against Australia at Johannesburg in this year.

* Hashim Amla hammered a 25-ball joint fifth fastest fifty for South Africa in T20 internationals.

South Africa scored mammoth total of 229-4 in 20 overs with top scorer by Hashim Amla cracked a quick-fire 58 off 31-balls including 7-fours and 3-sixes.

JP Duminy blasted a unbeaten flurry 54 off 28-balls with 3-sixes and 3-fours, Quinton de Kock hammered a rapid 24-ball 52-runs included seven-fours and three-sixes with strike-rate of 216.66.

David Miller cracked a rapid 28 off 12-balls included two-fours and two-sixes with strike rate of 233.33, Faf du Plessis scored 17 and AB de Villiers 16.

England best bowler by Moeen Ali takes two-wickets, Adil Rashid and David Willey each took one-wickets.

England chased 230-8 in 19.4 overs with top scorer by Joe Root 83, Jason Roy hammered a rapid 16-ball 43-runs including five-fours and 3-sixes with strike rate of 268.75.

Jos Buttler struck 21 off 14-balls including one-six and a four, Alex Hales cracked a 7-ball 17-runs included 4-fours and Ben Stokes scored 15.

South Africa best bowler by Kyle Abbott picked up 3-wickets, Kagiso Rabada took two-wickets and one for Imran Tahir - JP Duminy.

Joe Root named Player of the match for his match-winning quick-fire 83-runs knocked off facing 44-balls including 6-fours and 4-sixes with strike rate of 188.63.
