Bowlers guided India hard-fought consolation 10-run victory over Pakistan and avoid the series whitewash in a low-scoring thriller of the third ODI.

Match Stats : 
  • India's 10-run win was their third smallest victory by terms of runs against Pakistan in One-day international and It is their narrowest win in home ODIs, previously narrowest win at home venue was 29-runs at Mohali in 2011.
  • The 324 runs aggregate in the game was the third lowest in an ODI in India in matches where both sides have been bowled out. It is also the second lowest aggregate in an India-Pakistan game, after the 212 runs in Sharjah in 1985.
  • For only the fourth time in India-Pakistan matches overall, and the first time since 1996 in Toronto, there was not a single half-century in the game. It is also the second such instance in Delhi.
  • Saeed Ajmal's 5 for 24 is the fifth best performance by a Pakistan bowler against India. However, it is the second best by a Pakistan bowler in a defeat against India, after Imran Khan's 6 for 14 in 1985.
  • India's 167 was their sixth lowest score against Pakistan at their home venue in One-day internationals.
  • Pakistan's 157 was their tenth lowest score against India in the completed innings in One-day international and It is their fourth lowest total in Indian soil in ODIs.

India scored modest total of 167 for all-out in 43.4 overs with top scorer by MS Dhoni 36, Suresh Raina struck 31 off 60-balls including 2-fours & a six.

Ravindra Jadeja cracked a 27 off 39-balls including two-sixes, Yuvraj Singh scored a run-a-ball 23-runs with four boundaries and Gautam Gambhir 15.

Pakistan best bowler by Saeed Ajmal claimed 5-wicket haul for 24-runs in 9.4 overs, Mohammad Irfan takes 2-wickets, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Hafeez and Umar Gul each took one-wickets.

Pakistan scored 157 for all-out in 48.5 overs with top scorer by Misbah-ul-Haq struck 39 off consuming 82-balls including four boundaries, Nasir Jamshed cracked a 34 off 64-balls included five-fours, Umar Akmal scored 25 and Mohammad Hafeez scored 21.

India best bowler by Ishanth Sharma picked up 3-wickets, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravichandran Ashwin both takes two-wickets and one for Ravindra Jadeja - Mohammed Shami.

MS Dhoni named player of the match for his crusial 36-runs off facing 55-balls including 3-sixes and a four.

Nasir Jamshed earned player of the series for contributing 241-runs including two-centuries with average 120.50 in the three-match ODI series.
