Aamer Sohail's all-round display, Basit Ali's half-century and Bowlers attack helped to Pakistan comfortable 39-run victory over India and retain the Austral-Asia Cup in the final of a Pepsi Austral-Asia Cup.


Pakistan scored 250-7 in 50 overs with top scorer by Aamer Sohail cracked a 69 off 87-balls, Basit Ali struck 57 off 58-balls including 3-fours and 2-sixes.

Saeed Anwar cracked a 47 off 63-balls including 7-fours & 2-sixes, Asif Mujtaba scored a unbeaten 34 off 52-balls included a boundary and Rashid Latif hit a 17 off 12-ball contained 3-fours with strike rate of 141.66.

India best bowler by Rajesh Chauhan picked up 3-wickets for 29-runs in 9-overs with economy rate of 3.22 and Javagal Srinath captured three-wickets.

India bowled out for 211 in 47.4 overs with top scorer by Vinod Kambli cracked a 59 off 99-balls including a boundary.

Atul Bedade struck 44 off 45-balls including 4-sixes & a four, Navjot Singh Sidhu cracked a 36 off 61-balls included five boundaries and Sachin Tendulkar hit 24 off 26-balls including four-fours.

Pakistan best bowler by Aamer Sohail, Wasim Akram, Saleem Malik each took two-wickets, Aaqib Javed, Ata-ur-Rehman and Akram Raza each picked up one-wickets.

Aamer Sohail named Player of the match for his all-round display to took 2-wickets for 22-runs in 5-overs and took two catches after scoring a 69 off 87-balls including 6-fours.

Aamer Sohail earned player of the series for contributing 274-runs including one-century and 2-fifties with average of 91.33.
