The Pathan Brothers scripting a India registered their historic first T20I win against Sri Lanka by thrilling three-wickets in a tight-game of the one-off Twenty20 international.

Match Stats : 
  • India chased 174 was their highest successful run-chase in T20 international and the second highest run-chase in T20Is.
  • 59 : Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan set up the record eighth-wicket partnership in T20 international cricket history, surpassing the previous record held by the unbeaten 50-run stand between Shoaib Malik and Fawad Alam against Sri Lanka at King City in 2008.
  • 59 : Tillakaratne Dilshan and Sanath Jayasuriya set up the fourth highest first-wicket partnership for Sri Lanka in T20 internationals.
  • Sri Lanka's 171 was their second highest score in T20 internationals.
  • India's 174 was their fourth highest score in T20 internationals.

* On a day when the Hussey brothers (Michael Hussey - David Hussey) did the winning act for Australia, India found their answer in the two Pathans, with Yusuf and Irfan scripting a thrilling 3-wicket win.

Sri Lanka scored 171-4 in 20 overs with top scorer by Tillakaratne Dilshan blasted a 47-ball 61-runs including 7-fours & a six with strike rate of 129.78.

Sanath Jayasuriya hammered a 33 off 17-balls including 3-fours & 2-sixes with strike-rate of 194.11, Chamara Silva 21 not out and Chamara Kapugedera 16.

India best bowler by Yusuf Pathan takes 2-wickets, Irfan Pathan and Ishanth Sharma each took one-wickets.

India chased 174-7 in 19.2 overs with top scorer by Suresh Raina struck 35 off 27-balls including 5-fours & a six, Irfan Pathan blasted a 16-ball 33-runs included 2-sixes and 2-fours with strike rate of 206.25.

Yuvraj Singh hammered a quick-fire 32 off 21-balls included 3-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 152.38 and Yusuf Pathan 22 not out.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Malinga Bandara picked up 3-wickets, Jehan Mubarak, Sanath Jayasuriya and Thilan Thushara each took one-wickets.

Yusuf Pathan named player of the match for his match-winning all-round performance to scored a unbeaten 10-ball 22-runs including 2-sixes and a four after a taking two-wickets for 23-runs in 4-overs.
