Aaron Finch's world record 156 as Australia stunning 39-run victory over England, despite a Joe Root's rapid 90* and take a 1-0 lead in the high-scoring thriller of the first Twenty20 international.

* Australia secured their first victory in any format for 200 days.

Aaron Finch plundered 156 - the highest individual score in T20 internationals breaks the previous record by Brendon McCullum's 123 against Bangladesh at Pallekelle in 2012.

* Aaron Finch is the only batsman to score 150 plus in T20 international cricket history, his 156 is the highest score in T20Is, while his strike-rate of 247.61 is the best among the ten hundreds.

* Aaron Finch became the first Australian batsman to score 100 in Twenty20 internationals.

* Aaron Finch hammered a 47-ball second fastest-century in T20 internationals after Richard Levi (45-balls).

* Australia's 248 was the second highest ever score in T20 internationals.

* England's 209 was their second highest total in T20 internationals.

* 14 : Aaron Finch hit the most sixes in an innings in Twenty20 Internationals cricket history, surpassing previous record by Richard Levi 13-sixes against New Zealand at Hamilton in 2012.

Jos Buttler hit 27 off 17-balls including 2-sixes and a four with strike rate of 158.82 and Michael Lumb cracked a 22 off 11-balls included 3-fours and a six with strike-rate of 200.

Aaron Finch named Player of the match for record-breaking 156-runs knocked off facing 63-balls including 14-sixes and 11-fours with strike rate of 247.61.
