Darren Sammy smashed the two-sixes off the last 2-balls of the match to West Indies pulled off a remarkable six-wicket victory over Australia in a high-voltage game of the 23rd match of a World Twenty20.

West Indies' chased 179 was their highest successful run-chase in T20 internationals, it is the ninth highest chase in T20Is and it is the fifth best chase in World Twenty20. Mitchell Starc went for 50 runs off his four overs, which are the most he has conceded in any T20I and 15 runs more than his previous worst. His last over went for 19 runs, which equalled the most runs he has been hit for in an over in T20Is. He had gone for 19 runs against South Africa in a rain-curtailed match in Durban earlier this year. Darren Sammy's 13-ball 34 was the fastest 30-plus innings in a T20 against Australia. It was also his second-fastest innings of 30 or more in a T20Is. Chris Gayle's 53 was his eighth fifty-plus in the World Twenty20 - the most any batsman has hit in the tournament. Chris Gayle has scored 299 runs at 42.71 against Australia - the most he has scored against any team. His four fifties against them are also the most he has got against any opposition.

Australia scored 178-8 in 20 overs with top scorer by Glenn Maxwell blasted a 45 off 22-balls including 5-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 204.54, Brad Hodge struck 35 off 26-balls included 2-fours & a six.

David Warner hit 20 off 14-balls including 4-fours with strike rate of 142.85, Aaron Finch 16 and Brad Hodge 15 not out.

West Indies best bowler by Sunil Narine, Marlon Samuels, Samuel Badree each took two-wickets and one for Krishmar Santokie - Dwayne Bravo.

West Indies chased 179-4 in 19.4 overs with top scorer by Chris Gayle blasted a 53 off 35-balls including 6-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 151.42, Darren Sammy 34 not out.

Dwayne Bravo cracked a unbeaten 27 off 12-balls including 2-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of strike rate 225, Lendl Simmons struck 26 off 24-balls included 2-fours and Dwayne Smith hit 17 off 19-balls with four-fours.

Australia best bowler by Mitchell Starc took 2-wickets and one for James Muirhead - Doug Bollinger.

Darren Sammy named Player of the match for his match-winning unbeaten scintillating 34-runs knocked off facing 13-balls including 3-sixes and 2-fours with strike rate of 261.53.
