A breathtaking display from Alex Hales century led to England comprehensive six-wicket victory over Sri Lanka, despite a Mahela Jayawardene masterclass 89 and keep alive the campaign in the high-voltage game of the World Twenty20.

* Alex Hales hammered a 60-ball ninth fastest ever century in T20 internationals cricket history and became the first England batsman to score 100 in T20Is, Alex Hales had scored England's previous highest 99 against West Indies in 2012.

* Alex Hales became the fifth batsman to score 100 in World Twenty20 after Chris Gayle, Brendon McCullum, Suresh Raina and Mahela Jayawardene.

* Alex Hales 116 was the joint fifth highest-scorer in T20 internationals and it is the third-highest scorer in World Twenty20 after Brendon McCullum 123 and Chris Gayle 117.

* England chased the 190 was the seventh highest successful run-chase in T20 internationals, The fourth best-chase in World Twenty20 and it is their highest chase in T20Is

* 145 : Tillakaratne Dilshan and Mahela Jayawardene set up the second highest second-wicket partnership for Sri Lanka, it is the third-highest second-wicket stand in Twenty20 internationals and it is the second best 2nd wicket-partnership in World Twenty20.

* 152 : Alex Hales and Eoin Morgan set up the highest third-wicket partnership for England, it is the highest third-wicket stand in Twenty20 internationals and it is the best 3rd wicket-partnership in World Twenty20.

* 52 : Ajantha Mendis became the third most runs conceded by a Sri Lankan bowler in T20 internationals and also the third most-runs-conceded by a Sri Lanka bowler in World Twenty20.

* Nuwan Kulasekara's 4 for 32 was the eighth best bowling figure for Sri Lanka and it is the fourth best figure for Sri Lanka in World Twenty20.

Sri Lanka scored 189-4 in 20 overs with top scorer by Mahela Jayawardene blasted a 89 off 51-balls including 11-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 174.50.

Tillakaratne Dilshan struck 55 off 47-balls including 4-fours & 2-sixes, Thisara Perera cracked a unbeaten 23 off 12-balls included 2-fours and a six with strike rate of 191.66.

England best bowler by Chris Jordan and Jade Dernbach both took two-wickets in their 4-overs.

England chased 190-4 in 19.4 overs with top scorer by Alex Hales 116 not out - which was his 1st T20I hundred.

Eoin Morgan blasted a 57 off 38-balls including 7-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 150.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Nuwan Kulasekara claimed 4-wicket haul for 32-runs in 4-overs including a maiden.

Alex Hales named Player of the match for his match-winning unbeaten rapid 116-runs knocked off facing 64-balls including 11-fours and 6-sixes with strike rate of 181.25.
