Virat Kohli double century, Mayank Agarwal hundred and Ravindra Jadeja 91 sets up to India comfortable an innings and 137-run victory over South Africa and took a unassailable 2-0 lead to clinch the three-match series in the second Test match.

* India's 601 was their 30th highest score in Test Matches and it is the third highest total against South Africa in Test Matches.

* 254* : Virat Kohli became the second highest scorer by a Indian batsman against South Africa in Test Matches.

* Virat Kohli's 254* was his career-best score and the joint the seventh highest individual score for India in Test Matches

* Virat Kohli broke his own record of highest score by Indian captain when he reached the 246. His previous highest-score was 243 against Sri Lanka at Delhi in 2017-18. In fact, he now has the top-three highest scores by an Indian captain. Third highest-score is 235 against England at Mumbai in 2016-17.

* 7 : Virat Kohli registered the most double hundreds for India breaks the previous record joint held by Sachin Tendulkar (6) and Virender Sehwag (6).

* 7 : Virat Kohli became the joint-fourth in the all time list of most double in a career in Test Matches, jointly with Wally Hammond (7) and Mahela Jayawardene (7).

* Virat Kohli also reached 7,000 Test runs. Playing his 81st Test match, the 30-year-old moved past legendary Don Bradman's aggregate of 6996 runs (in 52 Tests).

* Virat Kohli became the equal-fourth fastest man in history to the 7000-run mark, leveling Kumar Sangakarra and  Gary Sobers - in 138 innings. But the fastest remains that of Wally Hammond, who reached in 131 innings.

India scored massive 601-5 declared in 156.3 overs with top scorer by Virat Kohli 254 not out - which was his seventh double century in Test Matches. It was his 50th Test as skipper, his first Test century of the year and his 26th Test hundred.

Mayank Agarwal struck 108, which was his second Test hundred and his second century in the series, Ravindra Jadeja 91, Ajinkya Rahane 59, Cheteshwar Pujara 58 and Rohit Sharma 14.

South Africa best bowler by Kagiso Rabada picked up three wickets, Senuran Muthusamy and Keshav Maharaj each took one wickets.

South Africa 1st Innings scored 275 for all-out in 105.4 overs with top scorer by Keshav Maharaj 72, Faf du Plessis 64, Vernon Philander 44 not out, Quinton de Kock 31 and Theunis de Bruyn 30.

1st Innings India best bowler by Ravichandran Ashwin claimed four wickets for 69, Umesh Yadav picked up three wickets, Mohammed Shami took two and one for Ravindra Jadeja.

South Africa 2nd Innings 189 for all-out in 67.2 overs (follow-on) with top scorer by Dean Elgar 48, Temba Bavuma 38, Vermon Philander 37 and Keshav Maharaj 22.

2nd Innings India best bowler by Umesh Yadav picked 3 for 22, Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets, Ravichandran Ashwin takes two wickets, Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami each took one wickets.

Virat Kohli named Player of the match for his delightful double century to scored 254-runs off facing 336-balls including 33-fours and 2-sixes.
