Shane Watson holds nerve as Australia pulled off a thrilling 2-run victory over Pakistan, despite a Kamran Akmal's record-breaking fastest fifty in a low-scoring one-off T20 international.

  • Australia's 2-run win was their second smallest victory by terms of runs in T20 international and the joint fourth narrowest win in T20Is.
  • Australia's 127 was their third lowest score in the completed innings in T20 international and It is their second worst total against Pakistan in T20Is.
  • Pakistan's 125 was their lowest score in the completed innings in T20 internationals, previous lowest was 129 against South Africa at Johannesburg in 2007.
  • Kamran Akmal hammered a 25-ball fastest fifty for Pakistan in T20 international cricket history, surpassing the previous record of 27-ball half-century held by Shoaib Malik against Sri Lanka at Johannesburg in the 2007 World Twenty20.

Australia scored 127 for all-out in 18.4 overs with top scorer by David Hussey cracked a unbeaten 40 off 31-balls including 2-sixes & a four.

Michael Clarke struck 32 off 26-balls including two-fours and David Warner 24.

Pakistan best bowler by Umar Gul picked up 3-wickets for 20-runs in 3.4 overs, Shoaib Malik took 2-wickets and one for Naved-ul-Hasan - Mohammad Asif.

Pakistan scored 125-9 in 20 overs with top scorer by Kamran Akmal blasted a 64 off 33-balls including 7-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 193.93 and Umar Akmal 21

Australia best bowler by Shaun Tait 3-13, Shane Watson takes 2-wickets, Debutant Steve Smith - who took two-wickets on his debut T20I match and Dirk Nannes takes one-wicket.

Shaun Tait named Player of the match for his pace bowling attack to picked up 3-wickets for 13-runs in 4-overs.
