Masterclass knocks from Mahela Jayawardene's unbeaten half-century and Kumar Sangakkara's 47* leads to Sri Lanka's record nine-wicket victory over England in the one-off Twenty20 international.

* Sri Lanka's 9-wicket win was their joint largest victory by terms of wickets remaining in T20 international, it is their 2nd time win by nine wickets and 1st time Sri Lanka had defeated England by nine wickets in T20Is.

* 83 : Kevin Pietersen and Eoin Morgan set up the record third-wicket partnership for England in T20 international, previously held by the 66-run stand between Kevin Pietersen and Owais Shah against Pakistan at The Oval in the 2009 World Twenty20 and England's highest any-wicket stand against Sri Lanka in T20Is, previously held by the 68-run stand for the first-wicket between Craig Kieswetter and Michael Lumb at Gros Islet in the 2010 World Twenty20.

* 97* : Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara set up the record second-wicket partnership for Sri Lanka against England in T20 international, previously held by the 13-run stand between Tillakaratne Dilshan and Mahela Jayawardene at Gros Islet in the 2010 World Twenty20 and Sri Lanka's third highest any-wicket stand in T20Is.

England scored 136-9 in 20 overs with top scorer by Eoin Morgan blasted a 47 off 32-balls including 4-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 146.87.

Kevin Pietersen hammered a 41 off 27-balls including 3-fours & 2-sixes with strike-rate of 151.85 and Ravi Bopara 19.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Lasith Malinga, Sanath Jayasuriya, Suranga Lakmal each took 2-wickets and one for Nuwan Kulasekara.

Sri Lanka chased 137-1 in 17.2 overs with top scorer by Mahela Jayawardene 72 not out, Kumar Sangakkara cracked a unbeaten 43 off 39-balls including 5-fours and Sanath Jayasuriya 8.

England best bowler by Debutant Jade Dernbach - who took one-wicket on his debut T20I match.

Mahela Jayawardene named player of the match for his match-winning masterclass unbeaten rapid 72-runs knocked off facing 57-balls including 8-fours and a six with strike rate of 126.31.
