Martin Guptill, James Franklin, Scott Styris, Ross Taylor and Peter McGlashan contributed with the bat before Nathan McCullum's four-for helped to New Zealand comprehensive 39-run victory over Pakistan and took a unassailable 2-0 lead to seal the series in the second T20I.

  • New Zealand's 39-run win was their second largest victory by terms of runs in T20 international and It is their biggest win against Pakistan in T20Is, previously they won by 1-run at Bridgetown in the 2010 World Twenty20.
  • Nathan McCullum's 4 for 16 was the third best bowling figures for New Zealand in T20 international and the second best bowling figures by an New Zealand bowler against Pakistan in T20Is after Tim Southee's 5 for 18.
  • New Zealand's 185 was their fifth highest score in T20 international and It is their highest total against Pakistan in T20Is, previous highest was 146 at Dubai in the last year.


New Zealand scored 185-7 in 20 overs with top scorer by Martin Guptill hammered a 44 off 28-balls including 3-sixes & 3-fours with strike rate of 157.14.

James Franklin struck 40 off 43-balls including 2-fours & a six, Scott Styris blasted a 34 off 14-balls including 3-sixes & 3-fours with strike rate of 242.85.

Ross Taylor cracked a unbeaten 30 off 21-balls included 2-sixes & a four with strike-rate of 142.85 and Peter McGlashan hammered a 26 off 10-balls included 3-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 260.

Pakistan best bowler by Saeed Ajmal picked up 3-wickets, Abdul Razzaq, Wahab Riaz, Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Akhtar each took one-wickets.

Pakistan scored 146-9 in 20 overs with top scorer by Mohammad Hafeez struck 46 off 30-balls including five-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 153.33, Umar Akmal 26, Wahab Riaz 18 and Ahmed Shehzad 15.

New Zealand best bowler by Nathan McCullum claims four-wickets, Tim Southee took two-wickets and one for Kyle Mills - Ian Butler.

Nathan McCullum named Player of the match for his brilliant spin bowling attack to claimed a career-best 4-wickets for 16-runs in 4-overs.
