Umar Gul holds nerve as Pakistan thrilling 7-run victory over New Zealand, despite a fighting knock from Scott Styris' 43 and clinch the two-match series 2-0 whitewash in a nail-biter game of the second T20 international.

Match Stats :
  • Pakistan's 7-run win was their joint smallest victory by terms of runs in T20 international, jointly their 7-run win against South Africa at Nottingham in the 2009 World Twenty20.
  • Pakistan's 153 was their tenth highest score in T20 international and It is their second highest total against New Zealand in T20Is.
  • New Zealand's 146 was their highest score against Pakistan in T20 internationals, previous highest was 143 at Cape Town in the inaugural 2007 World Twenty20.
  • Umar Akmal became the ninth Pakistan batsman to score a fifty in T20 international and the second Pakistan batsman to score a half-century against New Zealand in T20Is after Imran Nazir.

Pakistan scored 153-5 in 20 overs with top scorer by Umar Akmal 56 not out, Kamran Akmal struck 26 off 22-balls including 4-fours & a six, Shahid Afridi 22, Imran Nazir 19 and Fawad Alam 17 not out.

New Zealand best bowler by Ian Butler picked up 3-wickets and one for Nathan McCullum - James Franklin.

New Zealand scored 146-5 in 20 overs with top scorer by Brendon McCullum struck 47 off 41-balls including 3-fours & a six.

Scott Styris cracked a 43 off 33-balls included 2-fours & 2-sixes and Martin Guptill 17.

Pakistan best bowler by Umar Gul takes 2-wickets, Sohail Tanvir, Shahid Afridi and Saeed Ajmal each took one-wickets.

Umar Akmal named player of the match for his brilliant batting display of scoring a unbeaten 56-runs knocked off facing 49-balls including 5-fours and a six.

Shahid Afridi earned player of the series for his all-round performance to claimed 3-wickets and contributing 46-runs in the two-match series.
