Stuart Broad's four-for after assault from top six batsmen helped to England comprehensive 40-run victory over New Zealand and take a 1-0 lead in a high-scoring game of the first T20I.

* England's 15-sixes was the third most sixes in an innings in T20 internationals.

* England's 214 was their highest score in T20 international cricket history and the joint seventh highest total in T20Is.

* Stuart Broad's 4 for 24 was the joint fourth best bowling figures for England in T20 international, jointly with Jon Lewis and the best bowling figures by an England bowler against New Zealand in T20Is, surpassing the previous record of 3 for 16 jointly held by Ryan Sidebottom and Steven Finn.

England scored mammoth total of 214-7 in 20 overs with top scorer by Eoin Morgan blasted a 46 off 26-balls including 4-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 176.92.

Luke Wright hammered a 42 off 20-balls including 4-sixes & 3-fours with strike rate of 210, Jonny Bairstow blasted a 38 off 22-balls included 3-fours & 2-sixes with strike-rate of 172.72.

Jos Buttler blasted a unbeaten 32 off 16-balls including 3-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 200, Michael Lumb 22 and Alex Hales 21.

New Zealand best bowler by debutant Trent Boult - who took 2-wickets on his debut T20I match, Andrew Ellis, Ronnie Hira both takes two-wickets and one for Mitchell McClenaghan.

New Zealand scored 174-9 in 20 overs with top scorer by Martin Guptill struck 44 off 32-balls including 3-fours & 2-sixes, Colin Munro 28, Ronnie Hira 20 not out.

Debutant Hamish Rutherford - who scored 18 off 11-balls on his debut T20I match.

England best bowler by Stuart Broad claimed a career-best 4-wickets for 24-runs in 4-overs, Steven Finn picked up 3-wickets and Luke Wright took 2-wickets.
