A rapid unbeaten 53 from Elton Chigumbura led to Zimbabwe registered their historic first T20I win against UAE by a comfortable 5-wickets and keep alive their campaign in a one-sided First Round game of a ICC World Twenty20.
* Elton Chigumbura hammered a 21-ball joint-eleventh fastest ever fifty in T20 internationals and became the fastest Zimbabwean batsman to score 50 in T20Is.
UAE scored 116-9 in 20 overs with top scorer by Swapnil Patil struck 30 off 26-balls including 5-fours, Khurram Khan struck 26 off 27-balls included 3-fours and Kamran Shahzad 21.
Zimbabwe best bowler by Sean Williams picked up 3-wickets for 15-runs in 4-overs, Sikandar Raza and Tendai Chatara each took one-wickets.
Zimbabwe chased 118-5 in 13.4 overs with top scorer by Elton Chigumbura 53 not out, Timycen Maruma blasted a unbeaten 22 off 14-balls including 3-fours with strike rate of 157.14.
