AB de Villiers' own record-breaking fastest fifty and Hashim Amla's rapid half-century helped to South Africa domineering nine-wicket victory over England and clinch the two-match series 2-0 whitewash in the second T20I.

Match Stats : 
  • South Africa's 9-wicket win was their joint second largest victory by terms of wickets remaining in T20 international, it is their 2nd time win by nine wickets and first time South Africa had defeated England by nine wickets in T20Is.
  • 125 : AB de Villiers and Hashim Amla set up the third highest first-wicket partnership for South Africa in T20 international and South Africa's second best opening stand against England in T20Is.
  • AB de Villiers hammered a 21-ball fastest fifty by an South African batsman in T20 internationals, surpassing his own record of 23-ball half-century against same opponent at Chattogram in the 2014 World Twenty20.
  • Hashim Amla hammered a 27-ball his fastest fifty for South Africa in T20 international and sixth fastest fifty by an South African batsman against England in T20Is.
  • Jos Buttler equalled a 27-ball joint fifth fastest fifty for England in T20 international, jointly with Kevin Pietersen and Paul Collingwood and the joint fastest fifty by an England batsman against South Africa in T20Is jointly 27-ball half-century held by Paul Collingwood at Johannesburg in 2009.

England scored 171 for all-out in 19.4 overs with top scorer by Jos Buttler blasted a 54 off 28-balls including 4-sixes & 4-fours with strike rate of 192.85.

Eoin Morgan struck 34 off 17-balls included 4-sixes with strike-rate of 165.21, Joe Root blasted a 34 off 17-balls included 4-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 200 and Alex Hales 16.

South Africa best bowler by Kyle Abbott picked up 3-wickets for 26-runs in 4-overs, Kagiso Rabada, Chris Morris both took 2-wickets and one for Imran Tahir.

South Africa chased 172-1 in 14.4 overs with top scorer by AB de Villiers 71, Hashim Amla hammered a unbeaten 69 off 38-balls including 8-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 181.75 and Faf du Plessis 22 not out.

England best bowler by Adil Rashid took one-wicket for 30-runs in 4-overs.

AB de Villiers named Player of the match for his match-winning power-hitting rapid 71-runs knocked off facing 29-balls including 6-sixes and 6-fours with strike rate of 244.82.

Imran Tahir earned player of the series for claiming a 5-wickets in the three-match T20I series.
