Tom Curran holds nerve as England dramatic 2-run victory over New Zealand, despite a Colin Munro's 18-ball fifty in a high-scoring thriller of the sixth match of a Trans-Tasman T20 Triangular series.

  • England's 2-run win was their second smallest victory by terms of runs in T20 international and It is their narrowest win against New Zealand in T20Is, previous smallest win by 32-runs at Auckland in 2008.
  • England's 194 was their tenth highest score in T20 international and it is their third highest total against New Zealand in T20Is.
  • New Zealand's 192 was their joint second highest score against England in T20 internationals.
  • Colin Munro hammered a 18-ball his second fastest fifty for New Zealand in T20 international and the fastest fifty by an New Zealand batsman against England in T20Is, surpassing the previous record of 27-ball half-century held by Craig McMillan at Durban in the inagural 2007 World Twenty20.
  • 7 : Colin Munro equalled a his joint second most sixes in an innings for New Zealand in T20 international and the most sixes hit by an New Zealand batsman against England in an innings in T20Is, surpassing the previous record of 5-sixes hit by Brendon McCullum at same venue in 2013.
  • 93 : Dawid Malan and Eoin Morgan set up the record third-wicket partnership for England against New Zealand in T20 international, previously held by the 89-run stand between Luke Wright and Eoin Morgan at Pallekele in the 2012 World Twenty20 and England's fourth highest third-wicket stand in T20Is.
  • 78 : Martin Guptill and Colin Munro set up the record first-wicket partnership for New Zealand against England in T20 internationals, previously held by the 75-run stand between Martin Guptill and Hamish Rutherford at same venue in 2013.
  • 64 : Martin Guptill and Mark Chapman set up the record third-wicket partnership for New Zealand against England in T20 international and New Zealand's sixth highest third-wicket stand in T20Is.

* England victory came in vain as the New Zealand qualified for T20 Triangular series final against Australia on net run-rate.

England scored massive total of 194-7 in 20 overs with top scorer by Eoin Morgan 80 not out, Dawid Malan blasted a 53 off 36-balls including 5-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 147.22.

Jason Roy hit 21 off 13-balls including 3-fours and a six with strike-rate of 161.53.

New Zealand best bowler by Trent Boult picked up 3-wickets, Tim Southee took two-wickets and one for Ish Sodhi - Colin de Grandhomme.

New Zealand scored 192-4 in 20 overs with top scorer by Martin Guptill struck 62 off 47-balls including 4-sixes & 3-fours.

Colin Munro blasted a 57 off 21-balls including 7-sixes & 3-fours with strike rate of 271.42 and Mark Chapman cracked a unbeaten 37 off 30-balls included 2-sixes & 2-fours.

England best bowler by Adil Rashid, Liam Dawson, Dawid Malan and Tom Curran each took one-wickets.

Eoin Morgan named Player of the match for his unbeaten rapid 80-runs knocked off facing 46-balls including 6-sixes and 4-fours with strike rate of 173.91.
