Adam Gilchrist's 53-ball century and Shaun Marsh's unbeaten 79 sets up to Kings XI Punjab's record-breaking 111-run victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore in a one-sided game of the 63rd match of a Indian Premier League.

  • Kings XI Punjab's 111-run win was their largest victory by terms of runs in Indian Premier League history, previous biggest win by 76-runs against Mumbai Indians at Mohali earlier this month and the second biggest victory in IPL after Kolkata Knight Riders' 140-run win also against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Bengaluru in the opening match of the inaugural IPL 2008 season.
  • Royal Challengers Bangalore's 111-run defeat was their second worst by margin of runs in IPL.
  • Kings XI Punjab's 232 was their highest score in Indian Premier League, previous highest was 221 against Rajasthan Royals at Mohali in the inaugural IPL 2008 edition and the third highest total in IPL.

KXIP scored mammoth total of 232-2 in 20 overs with top scorer by Adam Gilchrist hammered a 106 off 55-balls - which was his 2nd IPL hundred and his first century against RCB in IPL.

Shaun Marsh blasted a unbeaten 79 off 49-balls including 7-fours & 5-sixes with strike rate of 161.22 and Paul Valthaty hit 20 off 17-balls included 2-fours & a six.

RCB best bowler by Charl Langeveldt took 2-wickets for 48-runs in 4-overs.

RCB scored 121 for all-out in 17 overs with top scorer by AB de Villiers cracked a 34 off 27-balls including 3-fours & a six.

Mohammad Kaif hit 15 off 11-balls including one-six & a four, Virat Kohli and Sreenath Aravind each scored 11-runs.

KXIP best bowler by Piyush Chawla claimed a career-best 4-wickets for 17-runs in 4-overs, Ryan Harris picked up 3-wickets for 28-runs in 3-overs, Shalabh Srivastava took 2-wickets and one for Paul Valthaty.

Adam Gilchrist named Player of the match for his blazing 106-runs knocked off facing 55-balls including 9-sixes and 8-fours with strike rate of 192.72.
