Michael Hussey's record-breaking century inspired to Chennai Super Kings comprehensive 33-run victory over Kings XI Punjab in a high-scoring game of the second match of a Indian Premier League.

Michael Hussey became the second batsman to score century in IPL after Brendon McCullum. Michael Hussey became the first Chennai Super Kings batsman to score a hundred in IPL history. Michael Hussey's 116 was the highest score for Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League and the second highest-score by any batsman in IPL after Brendon McCullum's unbeaten 158 against RCB at Bengaluru in the inaugural opening game. Michael Hussey hammered a 50-ball fastest century in Indian Premier League history, surpassing the previous record of 53-ball hundred held by Brendon McCullum against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Bengaluru in the inaugural opening match of IPL. 9 : Michael Hussey hit the most sixes in an innings for CSK in Indian Premier League and the second most-sixes hit by any batsman in an innings in IPL after Brendon McCullum's 13-sixes against RCB at Bengaluru in the inaugural opening match. Chennai Super Kings' 240 was the highest score ever in Indian Premier League history, surpassing the previous record of 222 by Kolkata Knight Riders against RCB at Bengaluru in the inaugural opening game. Kings XI Punjab's 207 was the third highest score in Indian Premier League. James Hopes hammered a 24-ball fastest fifty in Indian Premier League history, beating Kumar Sangakkara's 29-ball half-century earlier in this match.

CSK scored record total of 240/5 (20 overs) with top scorer by Michael Hussey hammered a 116 off 54-balls - which was his 1st IPL hundred.

Suresh Raina blasted a 32 off 13-balls including 3-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 246.15, S Badrinath hammered a unbeaten 31 off 14-balls included 4-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 221.42.

Matthew Hayden blasted a 25 off 17-balls included 4-fours & a six with strike rate of 147.05 and Parthiv Patel hit 15 off 10-balls contained three boundaries with strike-rate of 150.

KXIP best bowler by Irfan Pathan took 2-wickets, Wilkin Mota, Brett Lee and James Hopes each took one-wickets.

KXIP scored massive total of 207-4 in 20 overs with top scorer by James Hopes hammered a 71 off 33-balls including 10-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 215.15.

Kumar Sangakkara blasted a 54 off 33-balls including 5-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 163.63, Karan Goel struck 24 off 19-balls included 2-fours & a six.

Yuvraj Singh hammered a 23 off 13-balls including 2-sixes & a four with strike rate of 176.92 and Simon Katich scored a unbeaten 21 off 17-balls contained a six.

CSK best bowler by Muttiah Muralitharan, Manpreet Gony, Palani Amarnath and Joginder Sharma each took one-wickets.

Michael Hussey named Player of the match for his record-breaking 116 off facing 54-balls including 9-sixes and 8-fours with strike rate of 214.81.
