Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis leads to Chennai Super Kings comfortable nine-wicket victory over Kings XI Punjab and KXIP knocked out of the campaign in a one-sided game of the 53rd match of a Indian Premier League.
* The nine-wicket win is Chennai Super Kings' fifth time in Indian Premier League and 4-times CSK had defeated Kings XI Punjab by nine or more wickets in IPL.
KXIP scored 153-6 in 20 overs with top scorer by Deepak Hooda blasted a unbeaten 62 off 30-balls including 4-sixes & 3-fours with strike rate of 206.66.
KL Rahul struck 29 off 27-balls including 3-fours & a six, Mayank Agarwal hammered a 26 off 15-balls included 5-fours with strike rate of 173.33.
CSK best bowler by Lungi Ngidi picked up 3-wickets, Ravindra Jadeja, Imran Tahir and Shardul Thakur each took one-wickets.
CSK chased 154-1 in 18.5 overs with top scorer by Ruturaj Gaikwad 62 not out, Faf du Plessis 48 off 34-balls - who fell two-run short of his half-century - including 4-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 141.17 and Ambati Rayudu cracked a unbeaten run-a-ball 30-runs included 2-fours.
KXIP best bowler by Chris Jordan took 1-wicket for 31-runs in 3-overs.
Ruturaj Gaikwad named Player of the match for his match-winning brilliant unbeaten 62-runs knocked off facing 49-balls including 6-fours and a six with strike rate of 126.53.
