Vinod Kambli's steady 86, All-round display from Ajay Jadeja and bowlers attack helped to India convincing 43-run victory over South Africa and qualify for semi-finals in the tenth match of a Hero Cup five-nation tournament.
India scored 221 for all-out in 49.2 overs with top scorer by Vinod Kambli cracked a 86 off 116-balls.
Ajay Jadeja struck 39 off 62-balls including 6-fours,Mohammad Azharuddin scored 31 off 50-balls included 3-fours and Kapil Dev blasted a 22 off 17-balls contained 3-fours with strike rate of 129.41.
South Africa best bowler by Hansie Cronje picked up 3-wickets for 29-runs in 10-overs with economy rate of 2.90, Fanie de Villiers and Richard Snell both took 2-wickets.
South Africa scored 178-9 in 50 overs with top scorer by Jonty Rhodes cracked a 56 off 72-balls including a boundary.
Hansie Cronje struck 39 off 70-balls including 4-fours, Andrew Hudson hit 27 off 47-balls included 5-fours and David Richardson scored a unbeaten 23 off 36-balls without a boundary.
India best bowler by Salil Ankola picked up 3-wickets for 33-runs in 10-overs including a maiden, Ajay Jadeja captured 2-wickets, Javagal Srinath, Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble and Manoj Prabhakar each took one-wickets.
Vinod Kambli named Player of the match for his steady 86 off facing 110-balls including 10-fours.
