Parthiv Patel's brilliant half-century and Thisara Perera's quick-fire 32* before Darren Sammy's four-for helped to Sunrisers Hyderabad comprehensive 30-run victory over Kings XI Punjab and keep their playoff hopes alive in the 59th match of a Indian Premier League.
* Darren Sammy's 4 for 22 was the second best bowling figures for Sunrisers Hyderabad in Indian Premier League after Amit Mishra's 4 for 19 against Pune Warriors India at Pune earlier last month and the best-bowling-figures by an SRH bowler against Kings XI Punjab in IPL, surpassing the previous record of 2 for 19 held by Karn Sharma at Hyderabad earlier last month.
SRH scored 150-7 in 20 overs with top scorer by Parthiv Patel cracked a 61 off 47-balls including 5-fours & 2-sixes.
Thisara Perera hammered a unbeaten 32 off 19-balls including 2-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 168.42, Karn Sharma hit 22 off 18-balls included 2-fours & a six and Shikhar Dhawan scored 15 off 14-balls contained 2-fours.
KXIP best bowler by Sandeep Sharma picked up 3-wickets for 21-runs in 4-overs, Piyush Chawla, Parvinder Awana and Harmeet Singh each took one-wickets.
KXIP scored 120-9 in 20 overs with top scorer by Luke Pomersbach cracked a unbeaten 33 off 40-balls including one-six & a four.
Adam Gilchrist struck 26 off 22-balls including 4-fours, Rajagopal Sathish hit 25 off 18-balls included 2-sixes & a four and Shaun Marsh scored 18 off 20-balls contained 3-fours.
SRH best bowler by Daren Sammy claimed a career-best 4-wickets for 22-runs in 4-overs, Dale Steyn took 2-wickets and one for Thisara Perera.
Parthiv Patel named Player of the match for his brilliant 61 off facing 47-balls including 5-fours and 2-sixes with strike rate of 129.79.
