All-round display from Axar Patel and Manan Vohra's assault helped to Kings XI Punjab tense four-wicket victory over Delhi Daredevils and became the first team to confirm their seat in the playoffs in a tight-game of the 45th match of a Indian Premier League.
DD scored 164-7 in 20 overs with top scorer by Dinesh Karthik blasted a 69 off 44-balls including 7-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 156.81.
Kevin Pietersen cracked a 49 off 32-balls - who fell one-run short of his half-century - including 6-fours & a six and Jean-Paul Duminy scored 17 off 21-balls included a boundary.
KXIP best bowler by Sandeep Sharma picked up 3-wickets for 35-runs in 4-overs, Beuran Hendricks captured three-wickets for 36-runs in 4-overs and Axar Patel took one-wicket.
KXIP chased 165-6 in 19.4 overs with top scorer by Manan Vohra hammered a 42 off 19-balls including 4-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 221.05.
Axar Patel cracked a unbeaten 42 off 35-balls including 5-fours & a six and Virender Sehwag hit 23 off 22-balls included 2-fours & a six.
DD best bowler by Imran Tahir picked up 3-wickets for 22-runs in 4-overs, Jean-Paul Duminy took 2-wickets and one for Mohammed Shami.
Axar Patel named Player of the match for his match-winning unbeaten 42 off 35-balls included 5-fours and a six with strike rate of 120 after taking one-wicket for 18-runs in 4-overs including a maiden.
