Axar Patel's six-for restricted England to 112 before India lost 99 for 3 on the opening day of the third Test match.

* The ten-wicket win is India's joint largest victory by terms of wickets remaining in Test matches, It is their ninth time win by ten wickets and second time India had defeated England by ten-wickets in Tests.

* Team India have taken a step closer to the World Test Championship final at Lord's, England are now out of contention.

* This is the first time between India and England match completed under two days - This is the 22nd shortest match by terms of days in Test matches, England have been involved in 13 of the 22 and India two times.

* Ishant Sharma became the 11th Indian player to appearance 100th match in Test matches.

* Axar Patel's 6 for 38 was his best bowling performance for India in Test matches, It is the joint eighth best bowling figures by an Indian bowler against England in Tests, jointly 6 for 38 held by Bhagwath Chandrashekhar at The Oval in 1971 and the fifth best bowling figures by a bowler at Motera, Ahmedabad in Tests.

1st Innings England best bowler by Joe Root claimed a career-best 5-wicket haul for 8-runs in 6.2-overs including three maidens, Jack Leach picked up 4-wickets for 54-runs in 20-overs included two maidens and Jofra Archer took one-wicket.

England 2nd Innings scored 81 for all-out in 30.4 overs with top scorer by Ben Stokes 25, Joe Root 19 and Ollie Pope 12.

2nd Innings India best bowler by Axar Patel claimed a 5-wicket haul for 32-runs in 15-overs, Ravichandran Ashwin picked up 4-wickets for 48-runs in 15-overs including three maidens and Washington Sundar took one-wicket.

India chased 49-0 in 7.4 overs with top scorer by Rohit Sharma 25 not out and Shubman Gill 15 not out.
