Devon Conway's unbeaten 99 before bowlers attack helped to New Zealand's record 53-run victory over Australia and take a 1-0 lead in the first T20I.

* New Zealand's 53-run win was their largest victory by terms of runs against Australia in T20 internationals.

* Devon Conway became the first New Zealand batsman to remain not out on 99 in T20 international cricket history and overall the fourth player in T20Is after Luke Wright, Dawid Malan and Mohammad Hafeez.

* Devon Conway's unbeaten 99 was the ninth highest score for New Zealand in T20 international and the third highest score by an New Zealand batsman against Australia in T20Is.

* Ish Sodhi's 4 for 28 was his best bowling performance for New Zealand in T20 international and the best bowling figures by an New Zealand bowler against Australia in T20Is, surpassing the previous record of 3 for 17 held by Mitchell McClenaghan at Dharamsala in the 2016 World Twenty20.
