Devon Conway's 59-ball unbeaten 99* before Pace bowling duo Tim Southee, Trent Boult's eary attack and Ish Sodhi's record-breaking four-for helped to New Zealand's record 53-run victory over Australia and take a 1-0 lead in the first T20I.

  • New Zealand's 53-run win was their largest victory by terms of runs against Australia in T20 internationals, previously they won by 8-runs at Dharamsala in the 2016 World Twenty20.
  • Devon Conway became the first New Zealand batsman to remain not out on 99 in T20 international cricket history and overall the fourth player in T20Is after Luke Wright, Dawid Malan and Mohammad Hafeez.

Australia scored 131 for all-out in 17.3 overs with top scorer by Mitchell Marsh struck 45 off 33-balls including 5-fours & 2-sixes, Ashton Agar 23 and Adam Zampa 13 not out.

New Zealand best bowler by Ish Sodhi claimed a career-best 4-wickets for 28-runs in 4-overs, Tim Southee, Trent Boult both took 2-wickets and one for Mitchell Santner - Kyle Jamieson.

Devon Conway named Player of the match for his brilliant batting performance to scored a career-best quick-fire unbeaten 99-runs knocked off facing 59-balls including 10-fours and 3-sixes with strike rate of 167.80.
