Power-hitting centuries from AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli before Chris Jordan's four-for, Yuzvendra Chahal and Sachin Baby's combined 5-wickets helped to Royal Challengers Bangalore record-breaking 144-run victory over Gujarat Lions in a one-sided historic game of the 44th match of a Indian Premier League.

Match Stats : 
  • Royal Challengers Bangalore's 144-run win was the largest victory by terms of runs in Indian Premier League history, surpassing the previous record of 140-run win by Kolkata Knight Riders against RCB at same venue in 2008.
  • Royal Challengers Bangalore's 248 was their second highest score in Indian Premier League after their 263 against Pune Warriors India at Bengaluru in the 2013 IPL and It is their highest total against Gujarat Lions in IPL, previous highest was 180 at Rajkot earlier last month.
  • AB de Villiers became the second batsman to score a three centuries in Indian Premier League after Chris Gayle.
  • Virat Kohli became the third batsman to score a three centuries in Indian Premier League after Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers.

RCB scored mammoth total of 248-3 in 20 overs with top scorer by AB de Villiers hammered a unbeaten 129 off 52-balls - which was his 3rd IPL hundred and his first century against Gujarat Lions in IPL.

Virat Kohli blasted a 109 off 55-balls - which was his 3rd IPL hundred and his second century against Gujarat Lions in IPL - including 8-sixes & 5-fours with strike rate of 198.18 and Chris Gayle scored 6 off 13-balls included a boundary.

GL best bowler by Praveen Kumar took 2-wickets and one for Dhawal Kulkarni.

GL scored 104 for all-out in 18.4 overs with top scorer by Aaron Finch cracked a 37 off 38-balls including 3-fours & a six.

Ravindra Jadeja hit 21 off 19-balls including 2-fours & a six and Brendon McCullum scored 11 off 13-balls included 2-fours.

RCB best bowler by Chris Jordan claimed a career-best 4-wickets for 11-runs in 3-overs, Yuzvendra Chahal picked up 3-wickets for 19-runs in 4-overs, Sachin Baby captured 2-wickets for 4-runs in 4-balls and Sreenath Aravind took one-wicket.

AB de Villiers named Player of the match for his power-hitting batting performance to smashed a unbeaten rapid 129-runs knocked off facing 52-balls including 12-sixes and 10-fours with strike rate of 248.08.
